Dear Hedonists,
Speaking in a recent radio show, I was astonished by the number of listeners who called after my short account of the AAH, our activities and our notion of what hedonism is all about. I emphasized that we need to recognize the immense beauty surrounding us, that we should seek joy in the little things of everyday life and that we should do good deeds and share what we have with others.
People called to thank us for choosing such a topic and like many times before, I realized how much we all need to hear soothing words and positive thoughts. We often long for such things, when in fact they should be quite common!
That is why we should always have in mind that our lives depend on us alone, i.e. on our views and our way of thinking. If we constantly repeat to ourselves that life is a precious gift we intend to enjoy, that is what we will get. On the magical journey through life, we should never forget others, because alone, we can never feel entirely fulfilled.
So color the coming year with positive thoughts and spread positive vibes. They will come back to you stronger and brighter. Just wait and see.
On behalf of the Association of Authentic Hedonists, I wish you a Happy Holiday Season and lots and lots of Hedonistic Moments in 2009!
